Hi, I’m Andrei — tutor and founder of Learning Leap.
Over the past 12 years I’ve tutored students of all ages online. Kids just finding their footing in school. Adults going back to the books for the first time in years. Parents who just want someone to finally make things click for their child. What I’ve learned in all that time is pretty simple: there’s no such thing as someone who can’t learn. There’s only someone who hasn’t had the right support yet.
That’s why Learning Leap exists.
My background combines a degree in Political Science and Psychology with certifications in Data Analytics from eCornell, CS50 from Harvard, and a range of technical qualifications. But honestly, what shapes how I teach more than anything is just time spent with real students, watching what clicks, what doesn’t, and figuring out why.
I tutor Math, English, Writing, Science, and Geography, plus test prep for the SSAT, ISEE, and private school entrance exams — all online, so we can work together from anywhere. Whatever the subject, the approach is the same. Find exactly where you’re stuck. Build from what you already know. Stay with it until it genuinely makes sense.

Through years of hands-on experience and specialized training, I’ve developed practical strategies for exactly this: adjusting pacing, reframing material, and making sure real understanding comes first. How I teach
Knowing a subject and being able to teach it are two different skills. I have spent twelve years on the second one.
Most students who come to me have already sat through the explanation once. It did not land. Repeating it louder or slower does not fix that — the delivery has to change. So I watch how a student responds and adjust: more back-and-forth if they switch off when I talk for too long, worked examples if they need to see it before they try it, a diagram if the words are not doing the work.
Three things decide whether a session works:
- Energy. A flat session teaches nothing. If I am not engaged, there is no reason the student should be.
- Interactivity. Understanding shows up when a student explains it back to me, not when they nod along.
- Reinforcement. New understanding fades fast. It gets revisited at the point it would otherwise slip.
Every student arrives with a different way in, and it is my job to find it rather than expect them to adapt to me. That is what makes the difference between a child who tolerates tutoring and one who looks forward to it.
The best feedback I get is not a test score. It is a dad telling me what his son said to him after a session — “I like the way he explains things” — and that he was smiling when he said it.
That is the point. Learning should not always feel like a job, or something a student is made to do. When a student starts to enjoy the subject, the confidence follows, and so do the marks.
